Independent Living Skills is the ability and knowledge an individual possesses to direct his or her life at home or in the community. Components include home living, money management, transportation, recreation, self advocacy, interpersonal relationships and community involvement.
The Capital Area Center for Independent Living offers a range of opportunities for people to enhance their independent living skills. For some, it is an opportunity to socialize and meet new people. For their family members it is knowing their loved one is in a safe place. For many it is a time to enhance and feel more confident about their ability to pursue vocational or educational goals.
Some of our programs are subject to fee for service. Please contact us for more information.
